StreetGames, the National Sports Charity, recently became the first national organisation to be assessed against the Sport for Development model. StreetGames were awarded Excellent in this assessment. This model was created by Substance and Quest working together to produce an assessment that reflects the priorities within Government and Sport England for sport and physical activity, and the contribution it can make to wider social outcomes.
Speaking on the ‘excellent’ rating and Quest’s development, StreetGames’ CEO Jane Ashworth said: “It is always great to have our work acknowledged as being best in class but to be the first to receive the top rating in Quest’s Sport for Development Model is particularly exciting. Our team works tirelessly to support communities, and the introduction of a platform to mark and share best practices, is most welcome. It’s important we all come together to ensure all people, even those who live in the most disadvantaged communities, have access to support and the benefits it can bring to both physical and mental health”.
